Advantages and Disadvantages of a Refurbished Laptop
By allknowing
Have you recently discovered that you need to purchase a laptop for school or personal use? A refurbished laptop may be a great thing to look into if you do not have enough money up front to purchase a brand new one. Refurbished laptops have several advantages that you can benefit from, but you will also want to be aware of the disadvantages of making a purchase of a laptop that has been refurbished. Here you will get both sides of the story so that you will be able to make a well informed purchase and get the best value for your money.
One advantage of purchasing a refurbished laptop is that it will cost you a lot less money than a laptop that is brand new. By looking around at various places either online or around your neighborhood you will be able to find someone who is selling cheap refurbished laptops and you will be able to get them a much lower cost than you could if you were to walk into a department store or a computer store and purchase one for the retail price.
There are a few disadvantages of refurbished laptop computers that you will want to be aware of before you go out and purchase one. One of them is that you may get one with a bad motherboard. The motherboard is the most essential part of the laptop, so if you get one that is bad then you will be throwing your money away because you will not be able to use the laptop, and if you are able to use it you will experience a lot of problems and will not get the satisfaction that you should be getting.
Another disadvantage of purchasing a refurbished laptop computer is that you may get one that has a bad screen. The screen life on a laptop is not very long so you will want to be sure that you check it out thoroughly to ensure that the screen is going to last you for as long as you need for it to.
In order to be sure that you are getting the best deal on a refurbished laptop you will want to ask a lot of questions about it. You will want to ask when how old the laptop is, how long ago the batter was replaced, if it has ever had a new screen or anything else replaced, and several other questions. If you want to be sure that you are getting the best deal then take someone with you that has knowledge about computers and have them check it out before you hand over your hard earned money.
Refurbished laptops are generally cheaper and most of the time you will be able to get a great deal on them. You will need to keep in mind that someone has been using the laptop before you so there may be things that will go wrong with it sooner than with a new laptop. If you are going to purchase a refurbished laptop be sure that you ask a lot of questions about it and have someone to check it out if you want to be sure that the great deal you have found is really a great deal.

Thanks for the informative blog post. I was on the fence with savings some money, and paying a bit more for a new computer. I picked up a refurbished laptop from http://NJRefurbPC.com with a 60 day warranty, and i have been extremely happy with my purchase. I took your advice and contacted them prior to buying, and they answered all the questions detailed in your blog post! Thank you for the help!
Refurbs can be fine. If you purchase it from a well known company to increase your chances of getting something that is not a lemon. Bought a Dell Latitude D620 from "ElectroComputerWarehouse" and the product id is "dell_d620_laptop". It is working awesome and i haven't had any problem with it.
